At the end of September, the Ministry of Interior and Administration extended the contract concluded with Exatel for operating the OST 112 network. The Nationwide ICT Network (OST 112) is currently the country’s largest telecommunications venture. Exatel will construct over 1000 km of the new network. The contract is valued at almost PLN 200 MM.

OST 112 infrastructure is used by the most important systems responsible for the safety of Poles, e.g., 112 emergency number, the System of State Registers (contains key data of Polish citizens) and the Central Register of Vehicles and Drivers (CEPiK). Several thousand locations throughout Poland are coupled to the network.

“This is a project crucial to Poland. Please note the two fundamental benefits. Firstly, we are developing a state-owned network that is secure and reliable – and enables improvements in the security of citizen-related data, and the emergency services and the administration will be able to communicate quickly and smoothly. Secondly, the fact that a Polish digital operator manages this vast infrastructure serves as an excellent example of the building of national skills in the field of high technologies. This is the right approach if we want to ensure our cybersovereignty” – Rafał Magryś, Exatel Vice-President.

An additional outcome of the three-year contract worth PLN 200 million will be the expansion of state infrastructure. Exatel will construct over 1000 km of new fibre-optic network.

“The communication-wise demands of the state are enormous. This is why investing in infrastructure is our priority. Our network is currently 20 000 km long and is under constant expansion. This enables us to offer what the public and corporate markets demand from us, namely, security and quality. In brief – we provide peace of mind” Rafał Magryś, Exatel Vice-President.

Telecommunications services – besides cybersecurity – constitute the fundamental scope of activity of Poland’s largest digital operator. For over 20 years, the company has been providing its solutions for the financial, energy and administrative sectors, as well as other operators in Poland and abroad. Exatel has been actively participating in developing and implementing modern technologies, as 5G telephony or Smart City.
