The EXATEL Security Day 2017 (ESD17) conference turned out to be a success, and was a very positive sign that the IT market, business and public institutions have started to treat the issue of cybersecurity very seriously.
As note by the CEO, Nikodem Bończa Nowakowski, in his opening speech, the market is fed up with theory and strategy – it requires action. This is why the two days were packed with lectures on cybersecurity practice. They attracted over 350 professionals, managers and other people associated with the security industry. The attendance was constant throughout the conference with post-lecture discussion lively and thorough.
Knowledge is capital
All lectures and round-table discussions were extremely practical and substantively advanced. It is hard to pinpoint the highlight of the agenda. However, Jarosław Sporysz’s speech on discovering 1041 malware “watering holes” in Polish servers was widely quoted. This is understandable – this issue potentially applies to many internet users.

In other words, ESD17 would not be successful without the professionalism and in-depth practical knowledge of Exatel’s cybersecurity specialists. Indeed, right from the start, Jakub Syta, head of the Security Services Management Department, took on the role of the conference program director, ensuring the highest quality and relevant topic selection. During the post-conference discussions, the participants praised all the speeches – that by Jarosław Sporysz, Tomasz Wodziński, Antoni Grzymała and Paweł Krawczyk, Piotr Dudzic, Maciej Grela and Jakub Syta. The round-table talks were joined by Sławomir Pyrek, Maciej Kobus, Rafał Litwińczuk, Marek Cybul and Mariusz Rybicki.
Partnership is crucial
Our content partners are also responsible for the success of EDS217. We listened to Jason Mical from Fidelis Cybersecurity, Andrew Lewman and Luca Doan from OWL Cybersecurity or Bernie Doodwel from Certes Networks. Domestic speakers – Adam Haertle, Leszek Miś and Maciej Pokorniecki gave a display of true professionalism that was much appreciated backstage.
