The people of EXATEL

Elżbieta Borkowska

Elżbieta Borkowska

HR Director

“People are the most important. Everyone has their own story and unique knowledge. Together we create modern telecommunications.”

The power of our organisation lies in the people. Development, competence and responsibility are our strengths.

Why EXATEL?

For several years we have been intensively developing our team and competences to create more and more unique projects. We love what we do. We experience the ups and downs together. We grow and confront daily challenges together. We believe that thanks to us the world changes for the better. It is the sense of common purpose that is our fuel for everyday efforts.

We’re a close-knit team. Sales support, accounting, administration, controlling, sales, developers, analysts, technicians, network architects, HR… We work in different areas, but we share a sense of mission and the realisation that each of us has a real impact on the development of the entire organization.

HR Business Partner

“HR is my conscious choice. HR, as a strategic partner for business, enables co-creating a company and supporting people in their personal and organizational development. Combining the role of an HR Business Partner with Employer Branding activities is very satisfying. At EXATEL, I have the pleasure of fulfilling my professional ambitions and working with fantastic individuals.”

For me, as a HR specialist, human relations are the most important. Building effective teams, while being a partner for the management, and not only the executor of its will; recruiting, introducing new faces to the company and supporting them in adapting to their new workplace – this is very life-fulfilling. Finding solutions to problems and difficulties reported by either employees or managers is an integral part of my work. Moreover, observing the outcomes – particularly when such solutions aid others in their work – is a pleasure.

Cybersecurity Director

“Cybersecurity is about regularity, repeatability and consistency. It’s all based on a solid development strategy. I’m interested in solutions of the best possible quality. No shortcuts, no compromises.”

While cybersecurity is the domain of enthusiasts, it is now a “to be or not to be” situation for everyone.

Why EXATEL?

To be a good cybersecurity expert, you need to have a sense of mission. A sense that you’re doing something meaningful. Eight-to-four security is no security.
Our cybersecurity experts are among the best in the world. It’s not an exaggeration. Karol is sure of it, as his team made many spectacular discoveries. And even more successful operations. They ensure that you and your business are not the talk of the town when it comes to security and data leaks. As cybersecurity needs discretion.

Michał Szczęsny

Michał Szczęsny

Network Architecture<br /> and Planning Director

“In the 1990s, when I was in high school, I read the now- famous slogan in the newspaper: the Network is the Computer. It was like a revelation. That’s when I felt the network was my world.”

Telecommunications is the network. It’s where everything starts and it’s what makes everything work – the network that Michał’s team is planning.

Why EXATEL?

An architect is a visionary. A creator of the space in which you move. However, there is a space in which you move, but you may not notice it. It’s cyberspace. It’s a world of cables without which there is no access to the Internet or no possibility to communicate by phone. This network spans the globe and EXATEL international infrastructure is an important part of it.

But for Michał, the constructed network is just the starting point. Today is already a history. What matters is what happens tomorrow. That is why for years he’s been creating the future. Software-Defined Networking (SDN) technology, #Polskie5G, intercontinental submarine optical fibre. The projects Michał is planning with his team are supposed to be ambitious, but above all – achievable. Ones that will change our reality.

And the goal of all this is to deliver the highest quality telecommunications services and actively create the technologies of tomorrow.

Deputy Director of the R&D department

„The world is changing so rapidly that it is impossible to stand still. Either you are in the vanguard or you just keeping up. The third option is to stay far behind. We always want to boldly go where no one has gone before.”

Research & development is a tough racket. But someone has to do it. Why shouldn’t it be EXATEL?

Why EXATEL

The first battle that is fought is always with yourself. Is it worth improving? Will it be possible? Will I be able to do it? EXATEL has a long tradition of proving that it can. In spite of stereotypes and with the awareness of our strengths and limitations – we use all this to move forward. We don’t rely on “because everyone does like this”. We do not believe in adjusting the customer to what we know. We always tailor the solution to the individual needs of the client. This was always the case with telco services. Now this is the case with cybersecurity.

Patryk Biskupski

Patryk Biskupski

Deputy Director of the Project Management Office

“Small players steal the market from large institutions, because they are more inventive, and not better managed or richer”

Being cutting-edge is about the possibilities. Persuading institutions to take the risk and invest in ambitious projects? There are always a lot of questions and doubts – what for? why? is it profitable? But what follows, is the best “oooooh” moment. The realisation that a given project is something really huge. Just like TAMA – our proprietary anti-DDOS that we have been developing from scratch. Patryk believes the team is the most important component of a creative company.

The entire enterprise must participate in creating innovations – seriously – the whole company! You need a whole range of professions and skills acting together – from accounting, through marketing, to software development and engineering.

Research and Development Project Expert

“Behind every question there is a hypothesis. Then a sketch of an idea, then a design, and finally a prototype. You make 10 mistakes along the way. But also 20 experiences from which 30 new ideas are born. And then the cycle starts again. This is how we change the world of telecommunications.”

We don’t follow trends. We set them.

Why EXATEL?

EXATEL is a perfect partner for technical universities. They strive for challenges, testing grounds and jobs for graduates. All this is provided by EXATEL, which needs staff: scientists as experts, and the best students for R&D positions. Engineers need to implement their ideas to believe in their mission. After the first deployment in 2020, probably everyone came to believe that this system works. And there are new challenges just around the corner, even more interesting, starting from the physics of new materials and (opto)electronic components for devices, systems and protocols. In the interest of our clients, we are working on technology that will contribute to the state budget. And then what I earned in industry I spend as a scientist and the circle closes.

Strategic Technology Initiatives Manager

“Nothing is impossible in technology. It all depends on the approach. If you have the knowledge and the tools – problems become just temporary obstacles.”

Don’t talk, just do. Effectiveness is based on action.

Why EXATEL?

Once you challenge yourself, aim high. When you want to develop telecommunications, do it at a dizzying speed. Do you need help of a competent people? Find the best in the market. Do you need a satellite teleport within 8 months? Built from scratch? Give your experts the goal, the tools, and organisational support. Because goals are there to be achieved.

Today we don’t need to look for new challenges. They appear by themselves. It is enough to look reasonably into the future to successfully set directions – such as the Earth Observation Satellite System or further services for business and state organisations. And we don’t stop here.

Sławomir Pyrek

Sławomir Pyrek

Project Manager – Sales Support Team

“You need to network 2,498 outlets and you have 40 days to do it. You work for a large industrial company and you’ve just realised that a hacker got deep into your systems. On top of that, it’s the middle of the holidays and you don’t have any cybersecurity contract. You have to act fast. And we know how.”

You don’t follow in anyone’s footsteps. And we don’t sell ready-made products.

Why EXATEL?

Your organisation’s cyberspace is the world that you create. It’s a little different in each organisation. You don’t need the technology on its own. You need solutions to specific problems. That’s why we don’t sell cables, we don’t sell IT. We do not rely on ready-made products. We enter your world and take notes. A project is being created before your eyes.

When we move to deployment, we turn creative chaos into a precise plan. We use agile project methodologies. Our engineers create wide area networks (WANs) and unique security systems. Those are tailor-made solutions. Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, Totalizator Sportowy, Oriflame – these are just examples of companies that use our services and can confirm our competences.
