Press release

This creativity marathon will be held this weekend in Rzeszów, with EXATEL as its partner. Participants of the event will have an opportunity to develop interesting solutions for the Podkarpacie region, using NASA satellite data.

NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2021 will be held in Rzeszów (for the first time in Podkarpacie!) on 2-3 October. This event is a great opportunity to experiment, learn, and meet creative minds from all over the country – programmers, scientists, designers, engineers, artists, university and high school students, and all lovers of NASA and its activities. Anyone can attend the event, regardless of where they live – this year’s edition will be held online. Participation in the hackathon is free.

At EXATEL we focus on research and development activities, including those related to space. The inspirational lecture will be delivered by EXATEL’s Vice-President Rafał Magryś and the NASA creativity marathon participants will be supported by our R&D Projects expert. He will give advice regarding security of the developed solutions and be one of the jurors evaluating the competition works. EXATEL will also sponsor a special award for the winning team: an internship in our company – for all team members. In order to win, the team has to ensure that their solution has the best process and application security.

In addition to awards donated by hackathon partners, participants will have the opportunity to compete for two unique prizes donated by NASA headquarters. The best solutions will have the opportunity for further development under the PCI ProtoLab pre-incubation program.

The hackathon is organized by University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszów and Podkarpackie Centrum Innowacji Sp. z o.o. For more information, please visit the organizer’s website.
