In recent days, EXATEL has completed another stage of the DWDM backbone network in Poland. New DWDM systems were installed in Białystok and Suwałki.

The systems were integrated with a network in Warsaw, which enabled launching 100 Gbit/s lines from the “Eastern Wall” all the way to Frankfurt – without the need for signal regeneration. The 100 Gbit/s lambda transmission tests over a distance of 2100 km, from Suwałki to Frankfurt, were successful. This is probably the longest section over which any of the Polish operators have launched and tested a 1000 Gbit/s link in this technology and within their networks.

The expansion of optical transport infrastructure is one of the key elements of our company’s development. Owing to this investment, we are able to effectively compete within the operator market, offering highest-quality, safe and efficient services, but at a reasonable price – said Rafał Magryś, VP of the Board at Exatel SA.

The Exatel investment project has significantly increased service capabilities both for the domestic market, as well as international data transmission to Western Europe. Potential customers include companies from Russia, Belarus, Lithuania and even the Far East. The quality-related parameters of numerous services provided by the Company will improve markedly.
