The fourth edition of EXATEL Security Days is behind us. This was the largest event we have organized as a company so far, and most probably the most successful one in terms of content, scale and achieved objectives.
We hosted over 500 guests from various sectors of the economy, administration and services. The event was graced with speeches by some of the most important persons in Polish cybersecurity, including Tomasz Zdzikot – secretary of state in the Ministry of National Defence and a Minister of National Defence plenipotentiary for Cyberspace Security; Brig.-Gen. Karol Molenda – director of the National Cyber Security Centre and a Minister of National Defence plenipotentiary for Cyberspace Defence Forces; and Col. Przemysław Przybylak – Commander of the Cybernetic Operations Centre. It is impossible to ignore an entire galaxy of outstanding cyber and telecommunications experts – such as Adam Haertle or Michał Szczęsny. To reflect the level, one would have to mention all 23 speakers – this was a significant and very substantive event.
Tight agenda
22 lectures and a total of 24 hours of practical workshops in three days. This is not a petty logistics task, especially in the light of the fact that the event had as participants, numerous VIPs, and our partners who had come both from business, as well as many representatives of the public sector, including services. Plus – besides the lectures and workshops, we simultaneously organized two competitions, including the large hacking contest ‘Capture The Flag’. In other words – it was busy. Luckily, today we can say that ESD19 turned out to be a success.
Partners
The event would not be held if not for cooperation with numerous institutional – MoD, Polish Army, WOT (Territorial Defence Forces), ISSA Poland and business partners – Cisco, Samsung, Flowmon, Honeywell, Netscout|Arbor, RSA, Veracomp, F5, Arrow, Symantec, Forcepoint, 4Sync, PaloAlto, Instytut Kościuszki, ASTOR, EnergoTel. Media reach was guaranteed by Wirtualna Polska Tech, Rzeczpospolita, Business Insider Polska, ZaufanaTrzeciaStrona.pl, Interia, Polska2041, Dobreprogramy.pl, Cyberbedefnce24.pl, Polskie Radio and Polskie Radio 24, Just Join.it.
Knowledge will not perish
Let’s face it – to remember everything from two days of lectures and an entire day of workshops is not easy. Still, we have good news for all participants, but primarily for those who missed ESD19 – both the presentations, as well as video recordings of the speeches will be available from our knowledge repository.
What is EXATEL Security Days?
The EXATEL Security Days conferences gather together cybersecurity practitioners, IT managers, and business and public sector representatives. The objective of ESD is to share the experience and overcome barriers between cyber-tool users and developers. The 2019 edition will primarily summarize the current trends in this year, which is very important for cybersecurity. Protection of elections, the Act on the National Cybersecurity System, work on 5G, issues regarding securing IT systems and processes have NEVER been so important as they are today.
