EXATEL, together with the State Higher School of Technology and Economics in Jarosław, has opened new postgraduate studies in the field of cybersecurity and data protection.
These types of studies are a response to the growing market need for IT security professionals.
The program will put a strong emphasis on practical training. Among the lecturers there will also be representatives of the Polish telecommunications operator.
Cybersecurity is a major challenge today. DDoS attack attempts are taking place every few seconds somewhere in the world. The target can be either state institutions or businesses. The incidence of other cybersecurity threats is also steadily rising. Just in May, 97% more businesses were affected by malware attracts in EMEA than during a similar period in 2020. When these figures are juxtaposed with the fact that there is a shortage of cybersecurity professionals in the job market, the scale and importance of the problem becomes apparent. That is exactly why the State Higher School of Technology and Economics in Jarosław, together with EXATEL, has launched a postgraduate programme in the field of “cybersecurity and data protection”.
For whom are the new studies at PWSTE?
The postgraduate programme is addressed to individuals performing tasks related to management, administration and data protection in both direct and indirect way. It is also a great place to change your current specialisation and prepare for a job in the cybersecurity industry – either in private business or in the public sector. That is possible because this course assumes that candidates do not need to hold a computer science degree. They only need to have the right aptitude and some experience in IT security.
Why is it worth to broaden your knowledge about cybersecurity and data protection?
Graduates are equipped both with knowledge and practical skills thanks to the course scope and way of content presentation. Therefore, they can efficiently perform duties related, among others, to creation of security policies, their implementation, maintenance and development.
As part of the programme, students analyse case studies related to cybercrimes (live cyber attack simulations) and learn about technological capabilities that support the IT security of companies and institutions. They can expand their knowledge on protecting classified information, sensitive data, and releasing public information.
What will the programme graduates gain?
After completing the postgraduate programme, you will receive a postgraduate diploma in cybersecurity and data protection. The programme also provides preparation for certified examinations in E-URZĘDNIK, IT SECURITY, which will be conducted immediately after completion of the studies.
