It was really busy at this year’s edition of EXATEL Security Days (ESD) with premiering projects, tens of presentations and hours of workshops. In all this hustle and bustle, it was easy to overlook smaller issues, yet ones very important to us. An example was the visit of a group of students of the Technical and General Secondary School Complex (ZSTiO) in Jarosław – of which we are the patrons.

The ZSTIO students, whom we had invited to ESD19, are majoring in ICT techniques; thus, the conference perfectly fitted their line of interest. They arrived under the supervision of their teacher, Piotr Drabik.

What interested these young telecommunications adepts? Based on our conversations – workshops and the practical side of the event. As far as presentations are concerned, the most appreciated were that by Michał Szczęsny on 5G security – which should not be surprising given the interests of the youngsters.

We also asked what the students recalled from the exhibition part. Interestingly, not the Territorial Defence Forces with their guns and gadgets so fascinating to young men, but … CISCO and Samsung. So, the interest in technology among ZSTiO students is very strong and they have chosen their education profile consciously. Maybe this is why, when asked about their future, they unanimously said that they saw themselves in the IT world, and some even in the field of cybersecurity.

All students agreed that they would be happy to come back to next year’s ESD edition. Of course, we will be happy to host them!

We signed the partnership agreement with the Technical and General Secondary School Complex two years ago and since then, we have been supporting the students in acquiring skills as ICT technicians.

You can read more about our partnership with ZSTiO in an article in the local media: http://starostwo.jaroslaw.pl/aktualnosci/item/3688-exatel-s-a-z-warszawy-patronem-klasy-technicznej-w-zstio-im-stefana-banacha-w-jaroslawiu
