Would you like to be a software developer in the future? Are you looking for cool professional apprenticeships? Join us and gain experience as an R&D developer. We alone offer internships in as many as 5 program paths, and projects related to cybersecurity and telecommunications. Apply until June 20. The best candidates will start their internships at Exatel’s Security Services Management Office on July 3.

What do we offer?

Unpaid internships as an R&D programmer. The interns will work on projects associated with cybersecurity, IT and telecommunications, implemented by a Polish leader in ICT security services.

What program paths do we offer during the internship?

  1. Development of a cybersecurity services presentation environment

You will:

  • learn the up-to-date configuration, tools and architecture
  • implement standard software updates, utilizing configuration automation mechanisms,
  • implement and configure monitoring detectors,
  • design and execute a mechanism that demonstrates the practical operation of security tools – live protection against a hacker attack.

Skills we require:

  • basic knowledge in the field of Linux and Windows server administration,
  • knowledge of bask, awk, sed,
  • ability to program in at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Perl, Java and JavaScript,
  • knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, one of popular CMS tools is also welcome,
  • knowledge of one of the following configuration tools is welcome: Puppet 4, Ansible, Chef,
  • knowledge of one of the following monitoring tools is welcome: Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios.
  1. Development of a Sandbox environment

You will:

  • learn the up-to-date configuration, tools and architecture
  • participate in developing a management panel for virtual machines,
  • design and execute a tool presenting data acquired in the course of analysing malware detonation in a sandbox

Skills we require:

  • basic knowledge in the field of Linux and Windows server administration,
  • knowledge of one of virtualization tools: VirtualBox, Vmware, Xen,
  • ability to program in at least one of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Perl, Java and JavaScript,
  • knowledge of vagrant is welcome,
  • knowledge of one of the following configuration tools is welcome: Puppet 4, Ansible, Chef,
  • knowledge of one of the following monitoring tools is welcome: Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios.
  1. Analysing DNS and broadcast protocols in a LAN

You will:

  • learn several basic OS-network communication protocols,
  • get yourself familiar with a network lab environment,
  • learn to analyse network traffic generated by selected services,
  • gain basic skills of a Security Operations Center (SOC) analyst,
  • get yourself familiar with how an experience SOC team works,
  • find out why an SOC analyst earns more than a Java developer (http://www.payscale.com).

Skills we require:

  • basic knowledge of TCP/IP networks, the role of Windows/NetBIOS network protocols or rapid knowledge acquisition,
  • basic object-oriented or functional programming,
  • knowledge of one of version control systems,
  • knowledge of any scripting language. Python preferred,
  • knowledge of statistics, ability to create/analyse probabilistic models,
  • knowledge of the Wireshark app is welcome.
  1. Analysing business processes in terms of cybersecurity

You will:

  • learn the characteristics of modern cybersecurity services,
  • find out how to implement individual types of cybersecurity services,
  • learn to develop cybersecurity procedures that have a real value, and where the form is still equally important as the conveyed content,
  • learn how to manage a team of Security Operations Center (SOC) analysts.

Skills we require:

  • possessing an analytical mind that organizes observed phenomena into a structured whole,
  • knowledge in the field of IT and cybersecurity services,
  • writing flow and the ability to develop diagrams.
  1. Evaluation of available tools and libraries in terms of a network, SND and LTE in particular

You will:

  • design and implement one of the services or one of the modules within the systems developed at Exatel,
  • compare various technologies and prepare demonstrators – simple apps,
  • draw up reports and recommendations regarding the selection of optimal project-related solutions.

Skills we require:

  • knowledge of C/C++, Java,
  • knowledge of any scripting language. Python preferred,
  • knowledge of TCP/IP, network stack,
  • knowledge of SIP/RTP protocols,
  • basic knowledge of cryptographic mechanisms in network protocols.
