After months of preparations, the work was successfully completed. On July 12, we completed the last stage of RAPID 5G development. We completed the process of developing the RAPID 5G technology with field tests in the Blue City shopping mall in Warsaw. A mobile terminal communicated with installed 5G, LTE, 3G and WiFi antennas. The obtained results exceeded our expectations – ultra-fast data transfer from our Data Center in Mory and smooth terminal switching between various transmitters.
We invited a group of technology journalists to witness the last day of testing. A team lead by Michał Szczęsny and our guests from the Duisburg University did a great job in integrating technological solutions from around the globe into an efficiently working 5G network prototype.
This was one of the first tests in the world and the first in Poland. By developing a new, specific technology, we proved that we hold excellence in the research and development area, and we cooperated with the largest academic centres and companies on equal footing. Therefore, we’re opening a new chapter in Exatel’s history. Besides telecommunications and cybersecurity, R&D is truly becoming an important element in the life of the company.
